Super Bowl Party

A slow-down in gatherings and events mean we’re in the dead of winter in Michigan. I love a good reason to get people together but finding something exciting that will encourage friends to leave their house after a dreamy snowfall is hard.

Then I realized there’s SUPER BOWL. Super Bowl is what every American looks forward to in February. People have a reason to eat junk food, watch tv, socialize with friends and comment on the hilarious commercials. The question became: how do I make this an “Events By Haylie” Super Bowl party?

I’m not sure what even sparked it but once I had the idea I couldn’t let it go. I NEEDED to find a candy rack, like ones you see at a gas station as a way to display chips and snack options. I looked everywhere from Craigslist to Amazon until I finally found my vision on Facebook Marketplace.

The seller would give me a 6 foot tall stand for $25 but the kicker was he was 3 hours away. It gave me 6 hours to dream up the possibilities on what to include. The stand was tall, it was beautiful and it barely fit in my car.

As soon as I made it back to Detroit I began searching every local grocery story, CVS and Walgreens location for candy and snack deals.

Once the stand was set, I then catered the entire party around the concessions theme. “Scherr Concessions” featured a hot dog/taquito/corn dog roller to hand crafted referee nutter butters.
