Whirlyball, the game of the Midwest

What happens when you cross basketball with lacrosse and add in some bumper cars?

It might seem like a bit of a strange math question, but the correct answer is…

WHIRLYBALL!

Only playable at a handful of locations across the United States and Canada, the Chicago area of Illinois is one of the most prominent Whirlyball hotspots in the country. Chicago Whirlyball is a place for adults to release their inner child and act like Big Kids once again. With limited locations available, courts can be in high demand so getting booked up for a birthday celebration is an absolute must to avoid disappointment.

Players position themselves in a Whirlybug, which is a small electric vehicle similar to the standard bumper car in many ways. In Whirlyball, you pass a Wiffle ball to your teammates with a handheld scoop, before shooting at the goal on opposite ends of the court.

Invented in the 1960's in Utah, Whirlyball features two teams with five players, each battling it out on court. Practically anyone can play Whirlyball although interestingly, one of the only requirements for a Whirlyball match is that you are over the height of four feet six inches, so this can often rule out many children.

Party favors included custom Whirlyball cookies from Sprinkled by Steph, racing themed fanny packs and drinkware containers.
