Dreams Natura Review

If you’re envisioning your wedding as a full-on escape—complete with turquoise water, rooftop views, and a built-in vacation for your guests, Dreams Natura Resort & Spa in Cancun delivers all that and more. (If you’re a Vanderpump Rules fan, you may even recognize it as the backdrop for Scheana Shay’s wedding.)

Tucked along Mexico’s Riviera Maya, this all-inclusive resort has become a popular choice for couples seeking multi-day celebrations without the U.S. price tag. We recently planned a full wedding weekend here, and while the setting was unforgettable, there are a few key things you should know before you book.

Price

There’s no other way to say it: the value for what you get at Dreams Natura is exceptional.

For our December 2024 couple, the Beyond Memorable package included a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and late-night after-party—all for just over $34,000 USD.

That figure covered most of the heavy hitters: ceremony setup, DJ, florals, rentals, food, drinks, bar service, and even upgrades like cocktail tables and light enhancements.

And unlike many U.S. venues, which charge extra for nearly every item, this resort delivered a true all-in-one experience with:

  • Private cocktail hour or welcome party

  • Two-hour rehearsal dinner with open bar

  • Full ceremony setup with audio, officiant, bouquet & boutonniere

  • Three-hour reception with open bar and catering

  • Wedding cake, sweetheart table, and décor basics

  • Bonus inclusions like spa discounts, romantic turndown service, and even breakfast in bed the morning after

We highly recommend booking the Bridal Suite at the Beauty Salon ($350 for 4 hours). It gave our bride privacy and the perfect getting-ready environment.

Additional Costs to Note:

  • Infinity platform ceremony setup: $3,000 + tax

  • Rooftop reception fee: $800 + tax

  • Upgraded florals, linens, or furniture are extra

  • Outside vendor fees (unless vendors stay at the resort)

  • Non-resort guests must purchase day passes ($75–$85) and present passports

Planning Process

As incredible as the wedding weekend was, the planning experience was not without its struggles. Communication with Dreams Natura’s internal team was often slow, inconsistent, and reactive rather than proactive.

This is not unique to this resort—it’s a common experience across high-volume destination properties. They often host multiple weddings per week, and during peak season, couples can go days (or even weeks) without replies. Details are sometimes lost or repeated, and many confirmations don’t solidify until days before the wedding.

For this wedding, our team acted as a buffer between the couple and the resort—pushing for responses, reconfirming logistics, and ensuring nothing slipped through the cracks. At one point, we spent three hours at the front desk untangling a room issue that had already been resolved via email months prior.

Without a dedicated outside planner, major elements would have been missed.

While the on-site team is kind and competent, the planning process lacks the attention to detail and urgency most U.S.-based couples are used to. This is where an external planner is not just helpful—it’s absolutely essential.

Day-Of Execution

When the big day arrived, everything came together beautifully. We coordinated with outside vendors (photography, hair & makeup, etc.), kept the schedule flowing, and managed every moving part so the couple could focus on joy.

Even when a downpour ended the rooftop reception early, the energy didn’t drop—guests danced in the rain and transitioned into the after-party cave (yes!) for a truly unforgettable finale.

The resort’s event staff deserves credit, too. Dinner service was smooth, communication over walkie-talkies was efficient, and transitions between spaces felt polished. That said, once the rain hit, our Heirloom team took the lead in wrapping up, packing décor, and so the couple would return to a clean, stress-free suite.

Value

Dreams Natura offers immense value, especially for couples planning multi-day weddings that would cost double (or more) in the U.S. The resort’s packages include almost everything you need for a seamless event, and the guest experience is truly memorable.

But it comes with trade-offs. Couples should expect:

  • Limited communication during planning

  • Frequent staff changes or disconnects

  • Vendor restrictions

  • Resort policies that aren’t always flexible

This venue shines when paired with an experienced planner who can translate your vision, advocate for your needs, and handle the details the resort team may overlook.

Is This the Venue for You?

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding that combines beachfront beauty, all-inclusive luxury, and a full weekend of events under one roof, Dreams Natura is an excellent choice.

But here’s our honest advice: you need a planner. This is not the type of venue where you can go it alone, or rely solely on the resort’s team to carry your vision across the finish line. With the right support, your wedding at Dreams Natura can be magical—just like our couple’s was.

We give it an overall rating of
7/10 (10/10 with a planner, 4/10 without)
