Where beautiful tables BEGIN.

A guide to creating balanced, beautiful table settings for your event.

Designing your PLACE settings

Each place setting needs 18–24 inches of space for comfortable dining.

A typical place setting includes:

  • Charger or dinner plate

  • Flatware

  • Napkin

  • Glassware

When chargers are added, spacing becomes even more important. Chargers are usually 12–13 inches wide, so giving each setting enough room keeps the table looking polished rather than crowded.

Napkin Styling

Napkins are a small detail that can make a big visual impact on your tablescape.

Common napkin styles include:

  • Classic Fold – clean, structured and timeless

  • Pocket Fold – perfect for menus or place cards

  • Loose Fold – relaxed and romantic with soft, natural movement

  • Knot or Tie – modern and textural, adding dimension to the place setting

Different folds can create different moods—from classic and elegant to relaxed and organic.

Your Guide to fabrics:

Table Talk - Sizes & Seating

Ensure your table layout feels spacious and welcoming rather than crowded.

Round Tables

Round tables are the most common reception layout. Their circular shape encourages conversation among guests and creates a balanced, symmetrical look throughout the room.

Rectangle Tables

Rectangular tables are often used for family seating, head tables, and farm-style layouts. They create long sightlines and encourage conversation across the table.

Cocktail & High tops

Cocktail tables are commonly used during cocktail hour, lounge areas, and late-night dancing spaces. Linens can dramatically change their look, from sleek fitted covers to dramatic puddled fabrics.
