Clare & Michael’s Wedding at Chevy Chase Country Club

Some weddings sweep you up in the energy of the moment. Others leave you with a lasting sense of meaning, ease, and connection. Clare and Michael’s celebration at Chevy Chase Country Club gave us all of that and more.

What began as a classic, open-air ceremony unfolded into a night full of movement, laughter, and nonstop energy—from live music on the lawn to espresso martinis poured by the couple themselves. Every decision was made with intention for an atmosphere where relationships took center stage and the joy in the room was unmistakable.

An Open-Air Ceremony

Guests arrived to rolling greens, live violin and guitar, and a mobile bar ready with something cold in hand. From the very beginning, the tone was set: welcoming, relaxed, and quietly celebratory.

The ceremony began with Here Comes the Sun, a choice that felt light, joyful, and entirely fitting. Framed by Fabbrini’s lush florals and an open sky, Clare and Michael exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. The moment felt heartfelt without being overworked—emotional, present, and steady.

Cocktail Hour That Invited Connection

Following the ceremony, guests gathered on the patio for cocktail hour, drinks in hand, settling into long conversations that picked up right where they left off. Live jazz drifted from the ballroom, offering a preview of the energy still to come.

Clare and Michael were intentional about creating space for guests to connect, catch up, and simply enjoy being together. The result was a crowd that felt engaged, relaxed, and fully invested in the celebration ahead.

A Reception That Came to Life

The ballroom lit up the moment Clare and Michael entered—led by a saxophonist who set the tone immediately.

Their first dance gave way to heartfelt toasts, shared laughter, and a party that unfolded with joy and momentum.

Once Standing Room Only hit the stage, the dance floor was full—and stayed that way. Even a spontaneous moment involving Michael and a pair of split tuxedo pants (yes, really) was met with laughter and handled without missing a beat.

The Night Cap

Later in the night, Clare and Michael served espresso martinis to their guests themselves—a personal touch that gave everyone a second wind and added a spark of playfulness. These are the moments that don’t just entertain—they connect.

As the night began to wind down, guests made their way back outside for cigars and quieter conversations under the stars.

In Their Words

“Our wedding truly went off without a hitch—it was one of the most beautiful and unforgettable days of our lives. And without a doubt, it would not have been possible without Haylie and her incredible team at Heirloom… From our very first conversation to the final moments of the night, Haylie was on top of every detail… There is no one else we’d recommend more highly in the wedding industry.”

Clare and Michael approached their wedding with a clear priority: creating a space where people could truly be together. Their day was elevated, energetic, and full of life—not because of any single detail, but because of how intentionally those details were chosen to support connection.

Celebrations like this are a reminder of what weddings can be when relationships lead the way—and why we’re so honored to help bring them to life.
