Groomsmen Gifts

Proposal Boxes are the new modern way to ask your friends to be included in your upcoming nuptials. We’ve seen bridal boxes filled with small, luxury items, like candles, robes, makeup bags and tumblers (head to my previous blog post for a new idea: Bridal Party Gifts) But what about the groomsmen?

While my fiancé is utterly against the idea of groomsman proposal boxes and deems them unnecessary, I have to celebrate every little detail as much as possible. What else is a Wedding Planner to do? :)

The issue is that our entire groomsmen party live all over the country and only 1 usher lives in the state where we’re getting married so this gift needed to be cost effective but functional. From drop kits to whiskey decanters I looked at items that would get the most use without having to spend an arm and a leg in shipping costs. Sugarfina’s “The Bourbon Collection Gift Set” was a perfect matching, featuring copper plated flasks and bourbon candies. This was a cost effective gift at $8 a piece (on sale) with beautiful packaging that felt upscale.

I love a good personalized gift and was determined to elevate this package with each man’s initials. The Cricut products are perfect for small stencil crafts so I attempted to etch each flask myself. Unfortunately, after trial and error, I realize the etching cream only works on glass and would smear off with a slight swipe of the finger.

I couldn’t shake the idea of personalizing each item so I reached out to my neighbor Sara Lewis for engraving help.

She pulled it off, and at only $3 per flask we were still under our $12 spend per gift. The boxes were perfect and a great way to spend less while looking expensive.
