Mattie & Harrison’s Wedding at the Union League Club of Chicago

This was a wedding built on structure, tradition, and strong design. For Mattie and Harrison, the Union League Club of Chicago was the perfect backdrop. The architecture already carries weight — ornate ceilings, historic detailing, rooms that have hosted generations of celebrations. All it needed was thoughtful layering. Grand architecture framed the day. Candlelight softened it. And every decision felt true to them.

A Morning That Moved Slowly

Mattie spent the morning with her closest friends and chose to do her own makeup. It was simple and personal — a choice that felt completely aligned with her.

Harrison got ready just floors away.

The couple decided to skip a first look and save that moment for the aisle. When the doors opened to President’s Hall and Harrison saw her for the first time, the room felt it.

Some moments are worth waiting for.

A Ceremony in President’s Hall

President’s Hall doesn’t require heavy décor. The ceilings soar and the detailing speaks for itself. Mattie’s brother officiated, which grounded the entire ceremony in family. In a setting that grand, that personal connection made all the difference.

An Evening That Glowed

Cocktail hour moved to the Library, where polished wood and towering bookshelves created a refined but welcoming atmosphere. Guests settled in easily. Conversations lingered.

For the reception, we layered in lots of candlelight to add brightness and warmth without competing with the room. The design enhanced what was already there instead of overpowering it. Florals by Saville Flowers complemented the richness of the Club without overwhelming it.

From the time the bridal party and couple were making their grand entrance, to the end of the night, Big Sand Productions kept the night feeling lively.

From Harrison

“Haylie was so valuable to us and we would easily recommend her to any of our friends. She was super organized, attentive to detail, and informative throughout the entire process and gave us a big peace of mind on the wedding day which could not have gone better.”

Harrison, the groom

When couples feel supported, the entire day changes. They’re able to step into it fully. That’s always our goal.
