Frequently Asked Questions
Planning a Los Angeles wedding often comes with a lot of moving pieces, especially when venues, guest logistics, and travel are spread across different parts of the city. Here are a few of the questions we’re most commonly asked throughout the planning process.
-
What makes Heirloom different is the way we approach both the planning experience and the people at the center of it.
We care deeply about creating weddings that feel personal, thoughtful, and genuinely welcoming, but we also care just as much about how couples feel throughout the process itself. From transparent conversations around pricing and vendor contracts to thoughtful guest experience and clear communication, our goal is to help couples feel informed, supported, and fully cared for from beginning to end.
We’re not here to create weddings that simply look beautiful in photos. We’re here to help create celebrations that feel meaningful to the people experiencing them.
-
Ideally, we begin planning with our couples 12–18 months before the wedding, especially for larger celebrations and high-demand dates. That said, every wedding timeline looks different, and we’ve successfully planned everything from long engagements to 300-person weddings in as little as six weeks.
Whether you’re planning far in advance or feeling behind, our role is to step in with clear guidance, organization, and thoughtful support so the process feels far more manageable from the moment we begin.
-
During our discovery call, we’ll take time to get to know you, your vision, and what matters most throughout the planning experience. From there, we’ll help guide you toward the level of support that aligns best with your celebration, priorities, and current stage of planning.
Our goal is always to offer guidance that feels thoughtful, personal, and genuinely helpful so you can move forward feeling confident in the experience you’re choosing.
-
We believe couples make the best decisions when they have a clear and realistic understanding of what weddings in Los Angeles actually cost.
That’s why transparency is a huge part of our planning process. We openly share real budget examples from recent weddings, walk through where investments typically go, and help couples understand what will have the biggest impact on the overall experience.
Our goal is never to pressure couples into overspending. It’s to help you feel informed, confident, and equipped to make thoughtful decisions that align with both your priorities and your budget.
-
We believe a well-organized planning process creates a far more enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Throughout planning, couples have access to a centralized planning portal where timelines, vendor communication, layouts, payment reminders, and important wedding details are organized in one easy-to-navigate place.
This allows communication to stay clear, details to remain organized, and everyone involved to feel more informed and supported throughout the process. Our goal is to create an experience that feels structured and manageable without becoming overwhelming.
-
We’ve built a carefully curated network of trusted vendors throughout Los Angeles and Southern California whose work, communication style, and client experience align closely with the way we approach weddings at Heirloom.
Many of the vendors within our preferred partner program also offer exclusive perks and added value specifically for our couples, whether that’s additional photography coverage, complimentary upgrades, reduced fees, or thoughtful enhancements that help elevate the overall experience.
Our goal is never simply to recommend vendors. It’s to connect couples with professionals we genuinely trust while helping them feel informed, supported, and confident in the team surrounding their celebration.
-
Guest transportation and timing are incredibly important parts of planning a Los Angeles wedding. Because travel times can vary significantly depending on the day, season, and neighborhood, we help couples build timelines that realistically account for traffic and guest movement throughout the day.
For weddings with multiple locations or a large number of out-of-town guests, we often recommend organized transportation services, strategically located hotel blocks, and clear guest communication well before the wedding weekend. Our goal is to help the experience feel smooth, relaxed, and easy to navigate for everyone attending.
-
Yes. We assist couples with hotel room block sourcing, guest accommodations, and transportation logistics to help make the wedding weekend feel more seamless for everyone attending.
From identifying the best hotel options based on location and guest experience to helping coordinate transportation and communicate important travel details, our goal is to help both couples and guests feel informed, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the celebration weekend.
-
Absolutely. Many of our Los Angeles couples are planning from out of state, and our process is designed to keep everything feeling organized, connected, and easy to navigate no matter where you’re located.
We regularly meet with couples virtually throughout the planning process while also attending venue tours, walkthroughs, tastings, and vendor meetings locally on their behalf when needed. Our goal is to help couples feel fully informed and supported without needing to constantly travel back and forth to Los Angeles.
We also create detailed Wedding Weekend Packets for guests traveling in from out of town. These guides can include hotel information and room block details, transportation schedules, direct driver contact information, weekend itineraries, restaurant recommendations, dress code guidance, and anything else that helps guests feel informed and comfortable throughout the celebration weekend.
-
We believe guests remember how a wedding felt just as much as how it looked.
Creating a welcoming experience often comes down to the smaller details, thoughtful communication, a well-paced timeline, comfortable flow between events, intentional seating, meaningful moments, and making sure guests feel considered throughout the celebration rather than simply attending it.
From the planning process through the wedding weekend itself, we help couples think beyond aesthetics alone and create experiences that feel warm, personal, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved.
