Devon and Peter’s Colorful Fig House Wedding | Los Angeles, CA

Devon and Peter were never going to play it safe. From the beginning, they imagined a wedding that felt alive—bursting with color, warmth, and the kind of energy that made everyone want to stay just a little longer. Their day at The Fig House was a full-hearted celebration of who they are: vibrant, intentional, and completely in love.

Color With Intention

Wedding trends come and go—matchbooks, audio guestbooks, signature drinks named after your dog—but if there's one thing we'll remember about this season, it's this: couples are embracing color.

For Devon and Peter, color wasn't about being bold for the sake of being bold. It was about joy. Expression. Personality. From the start, they knew what mattered most—and that clarity made every decision (design, flow, experience) feel connected, thoughtful, and fun to build.

Planning with people who know who they are and aren't afraid to let it show? That's our sweet spot.

A Venue That Knows How to Hold Color

Few Los Angeles wedding venues hold color the way The Fig House does. Its iconic green exterior and warm, inviting interiors create a canvas that welcomes bold choices.

Devon and Peter leaned all the way in. From vibrant getting-ready moments to Devon's jaw-dropping statement veil, color was everywhere—and it never felt overdone. The florals spilled off the tables and into corners, ceremony details, and even the cake. The whole space moved in rhythm: curated, playful, and totally alive.

If you're considering The Fig House for your own wedding, we break down its layout, design perks, and planner insights in our full venue review.

Proof That Playful Can Still Be Polished

This wedding was a masterclass in contrast: bright but never busy, refined but never too serious. It's proof that embracing color doesn't mean losing elegance—it means knowing how to strike a balance.

And you could feel it. Guests walked in and lit up. Every corner held a detail worth noticing. It wasn't just beautiful to photograph—it changed the mood of the room. Which, honestly, is the best kind of design.

A Dance Floor Full of Fun

There's something about a surprise serenade that turns a party into a memory. Devon and Peter each surprised the other on the dance floor with a song—and the room melted.

From that moment on, the dance floor didn't let up. There was music, movement, and joy in every frame. It was full of energy, feeling, and those blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments that make a night unforgettable.

Planning That Holds The Day Together

Behind the scenes, we focused on what we always do: making space for our couples to be fully present. From timeline design to vendor calls to day-of details, our job was to hold the logistics so Devon and Peter could just be in it.

As Devon later shared:

"Amanda had planned everything absolutely perfectly—from décor to vendor booking, down to the tiniest details… I felt truly taken care of, especially day-of."

That ease extended to the vendor team as well. Communication stayed clear, energy stayed collaborative, and everyone got to show up and do their best work.

Their videographer Brandon Sieve said:

"Their team made the day flow effortlessly—every moment was beautifully timed, and they created space for creativity while keeping everything on track."

(That's always the goal.)

A Day That Felt Like Joy

Devon and Peter's wedding was everything we love about planning: expressive design, an intentional process, and a couple who let their values lead the way. It was personal, colorful, and exactly what it needed to be.

More than anything, it was a celebration that felt like them. And that's what we're always after.

Color-forward weddings aren't a trend—they're a reflection of couples who know themselves and aren't afraid to throw a party that feels like them. If that sounds like you, we'd love to plan alongside you. Let's make something unforgettable.
