Chicago Marriott Naperville Venue Review
Heirloom Event Company does not receive a commission for positive reviews or venue referrals for Chicago Marriott Naperville.
When one of our 2025 couples chose the Chicago Marriott Naperville, their reasoning was refreshingly simple: they wanted to enjoy cocktail hour, dance all night, and then take the elevator upstairs to their hotel room. No transportation logistics. No shuttles. No late-night ride coordination. Just celebration followed by convenience.
And honestly? They might be onto something.
The Chicago Marriott Naperville isn’t a showstopping architectural venue. What you will find is a practical, all-in-one space that makes wedding weekends smooth. Our review of Chicago Marriott Naperville will give you real numbers, honest insight, and what to expect from planning through execution.
Two unexpected perks? An on-site Starbucks, a lifesaver for early morning hair and makeup crews, and a large conference room turned bridal suite. Typically, conference rooms mean overhead fluorescent lighting and stuffy air. Not this one. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows flood the space with natural light, making it ideal for getting ready photos, dress details, and bridal portraits.
Price
Let’s talk numbers, because this is where Chicago Marriott Naperville truly stands out.
For 150 guests, our couple invested approximately $22,000 for:
Complimentary getting-ready room
Six-hour Grand Ballroom rental
Three-course plated meal
Four hours of top-shelf bar service
Champagne toast for all guests
Dinner wine service
Custom-designed wedding cake
Votive candles per table
Personalized menu cards
Complimentary honeymoon suite
For couples aiming to stay under a $25K reception budget without sacrificing guest experience, this is one of the strongest values we’ve seen in the Chicago suburbs.
The lower food and beverage minimums, especially compared to downtown hotels, create budget breathing room. That flexibility allows couples to invest in elevated florals, upgraded entertainment, specialty lighting, cold sparkler effects, or late-night snacks without feeling stretched thin.
From a pure numbers standpoint, it’s hard to beat.

Planning Process
Planning with the Marriott team was seamless, thanks in large part to Jillian Hardt, the on-site event manager. Communication was prompt, clear, and thorough. Floor plans were finalized early, catering details were confirmed, and expectations were clearly set. There were no last-minute surprises.
One standout planning perk: early access to the ballroom on the wedding day.
Florals were delivered at 10:00am and fully set by 11:00am, giving us the rare gift of being finished with reception décor before heading off-site for the ceremony at Cantigny Gardens at noon.
It allowed our team and the couple to feel calm and ahead of schedule. And on your wedding day, that’s invaluable.

Day-Of Execution
The day flowed exactly as it should. While cocktail hour officially opened at 5:00pm, guests had comfortable spaces to gather beforehand, including the lobby lounge, the hotel bar, and the Starbucks downstairs.
Once cocktail hour began, appetizer platters and signature drinks were ready and flowing. Dinner service was well-paced and especially impressive in its allergy accommodations—dietary needs were clearly communicated and handled with care.
The night included:
Cold sparkler effects for the grand entrance
Coordinated sparkler moment for the first dance (executed flawlessly between the DJ and hotel staff)
Late-night pizza at 10:30pm
A private last dance at 11:55pm to close out the celebration
Each transition felt intentional and well-supported by the hotel staff working in sync with the DJ and vendor team.
At the end of the night, there was no complicated exit plan, just a short elevator ride upstairs. It’s hard to overstate how much stress that eliminates.

Value
In full transparency: the Chicago Marriott Naperville is not a dramatic, wow-factor venue straight out of a magazine. The ballroom walls are neutral. Some finishes feel traditional. It’s a blank slate rather than a built-in aesthetic.
But here’s why it works:
A true one-stop shop: getting ready, reception, guest accommodations
Competitive pricing with low food and beverage minimums
Responsive and experienced on-site staff
Budget flexibility for design upgrades and experiential moments
Built-in guest comfort and convenience
For couples who prioritize ease, cost efficiency, and a smooth guest experience over ornate surroundings, this venue delivers exceptional value.
